I just recently returned from my third trip to Poland.  My first trip to Poland was a Church sponsored trip in 2012 which was a tourist trip.  In 2014, I made my second trip to Poland when I, along with Jonathan Shea, organized the trip.  We brought 44 American genealogists to Poland in search of their roots, sending some of them (including me) to their ancestral villages.  On my village trip I was lucky enough to find my second cousin, Henryk, living in the ancestral village and waiting for an American to make the reverse trip back to Poland. Poldarex – Where Everybody Knows Your Name | Poldarex

I started this blog to highlight the Polish stores on Broad Street, New Britain, in the area now known as Little Poland.  I frequently shop on Broad Street and have my favorite stores. For this blog, I decided to go to a store I had not gone to before-Poldarex.  What I found out is that Poldarex is a very special place.  It is not just what they sell; it is about so much more.

Pisanki Class

On Saturday, March 29th the Polish American Foundation hosted a Pisanki making class. 65 people showed up to learn about Polish Pisanki, or the brightly colored Easter eggs decorated with beautiful designs. Both members and non-members of the Foundation were welcome. We had people, young and old, Polish and ‘Wanna-be’ Polish; all learning how to make these awesome Easter creations!
